Doors for Nuclear power plants

Metal protective tight door is designed to provide biological protection and integrity of doorways within nuclear power plants’ premises.

These metal doors are build to withstand impact of air shock-waves.

 

 
Are designed for: 

  • Personnel ingress/egress to/from building during operations and evacuation;
  • Passage for personnel and movement of cargo;
  • Provide continuous insulation from environment for building’s premises;
  • Withstanding impact of air shock-waves;
  • Preclude unauthorized personnel from accessing the building.

Nuclear power plant is equipped with various types of doors and hatches that have safety, fire-safety and containment capabilities.

JSC “Votkinsky zavod” manufactures more than 20 types of doors for nuclear power plants.

Door types: 

  • Protective tight metal door is designed to provide biological protection and integrity of doorways on the premises of nuclear power plants.
  • Metal doors that withstand impact of air shock-wave are designed for:
    • Personnel ingress/egress to/from building during operations and evacuation;
    • Passage for personnel and movement of cargo;
    • Provide continuous insulation from environment for building’s premises;
    • Withstanding impact of air shock-waves;
    • Preclude unauthorized personnel from accessing the building.
  • Protective doors are designed to block doorways in order to protect personnel located on premises being serviced from exposure to ionizing radiation inside containers handling chamber and to provide personnel’s access to the containers handling chamber.


Protective tight doors, DZ type:

  • Doorway size: 600×1200 mm to 1500×2000 mm;
  • Mass: 390 to 935 kg;


Doors for Nuclear power plants:

  • Doorway size: 1500×2000 mm, 900×1600 mm;
  • Mass: 2700 to 6200 kg;
  • Biological protective layer’s thickness: 50 to 150 mm.
