The valve prevents pressure surges in pipelines when compressor system operates. Until recently, Gazprom has been using Dutch-made valves. Votkinsk-made analog is the first import-substituting equipment of this kind. It is better versus its foreign analog because of hydroelectric drive that is automatically activated in emergency.
Preparatory phase of valve certification has ended recently. Representatives of FGUP “All-Russia research institute for standardization and certification in mechanical engineering industry” have verified both documentation and manufacturing facilities and validated their compliance with the Customs Union’s Technical Regulations. Compliance Certificate will be issued once data obtained have been processes and analyzed.
This over-dimensioned product (almost two meters high) will be delivered from Votkinsky zavod to Nizhnii Novgorod from where it will be shipped to gas contractors for field testing.
This equipment is a result of joint effort by four Russian manufactures: NPTC “Anode” (design documentation); research institute of measuring systems named after Sedakov (control unit); “Voshod” company, city of Pavlovsk (oil-station and hydraulics systems) and Votkinsky zavod.
